Heather and Bex are fundraising for AVA by taking on 8 Tough Mudders in 3 countries over 5 months

Here’s a message from Heather on why they have taken on this muddy challenge….
“Hello! I’m now going to attempt to introduce myself.
My name is Heather, I’m 27, 5’8 and have an outgoing personality. (Note to self; words like “outgoing” are far too “dating website” lingo”). I am raising money for AVA as they support people who suffer from domestic abuse. A few years ago I found myself involved in an abusive relationship.
Now in order to raise money for this amazing charity I have decided to participate in 8 Tough Mudders. For those not aware what a Tough Mudder entails let me open your eyes to a world of MUD! Each race is 10-12 miles and has 20 obstacles, not to mention copious amounts of MUD. (Can you tell I’m a fan of the mud yet? Why pay for a spa when you can have a clay wrap on the course!). I am running with my best friend and together we are known as Trev & Dave (but that’s a story for another time). If you think I am crazy for doing one, I wouldn’t like to imagine what you think about me doing eight.
By the end of September, if all goes to plan, we will have completed 8 Tough Mudders in 3 countries. That’s right we are going international baby (if anyone would like to teach me some key words in German that would be appreciated, “Help” being the main word needed!). A total of 80+ miles with 160 obstacles and of course lots of laughter along the way.
I am one of the “lucky ones” and managed to break away from a toxic relationship. Unfortunately many people out there suffer in silence. The money I raise will go towards helping those who need it, and hopefully I can raise awareness of Domestic Abuse. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
