The training is designed to raise awareness of the topic and provide participants with an opportunity to explore the dynamics of child to parent abuse, including as a profile of domestic abuse. Information will be provided on definitions, background theories, prevalence, risk factors, case studies, behaviour patterns and provide examples of current intervention models and best practice as shared by Peer Researchers who worked with us on our Hear ME adult child to parent abuse research project.

Online Interactive Training: Counselling Skills for People Working with Survivors

This course explores the means to develop a powerful working relationship with clients who have experienced violence against women and girls, through respect, fostering control, setting boundaries and being trustworthy. Concepts such as non-judgmental acceptance and empowerment are explored. There will be opportunities to practise basic counselling skills including listening and responding in ways that empower clients.
