Q: Can I attend one of your training courses/events?
A: Our training courses/events are accessible to all front-line professionals seeking to give an appropriate response to a woman or girl who discloses abuse, across the UK. Please read the outline for the course/event you are interested in to ensure that it meets your needs.
Q: Do you provide lunch?
A: Refreshments and lunch are provided at all our training courses. We are able to cater to special dietary requirements. Please make sure to note these when submitting your booking. Refreshments are generally provided at our events, please check the details for the particular event to be sure.
Q: How many people attend a training course/event?
A: We allow a maximum of 16 participants to attend our training courses. This is to ensure a high quality of training. The number of delegates at our events is dependent on the nature of the event, please check the details for the particular event to be sure.
Q: What time does a training course start?
A: Our training courses run from 10am until 4.30pm, unless otherwise stated.
Q: How much does one of your training courses cost?
A: The cost for most of our full day trainings appears below. There is some variation in this costing, depending on the specific trainer delivering the training and other factors. To be sure please check the description for the specific training you are considering, on the upcoming training page of the website.
Statutory organisations, private companies and charities with annual income over £1million – £140
Medium charities (annual income over £200k and below £1million) – £120
Small charities (annual income below £200k) – £100
Q: What happens once I have submitted my booking?
A: We will send you a confirmation email and joining instructions within 10 working days of receiving your booking. This will include a venue map. Please contact us if you do not receive this. You will receive your invoice for your training course a fortnight before the event.
Q: I need to cancel my place…
A: If at any point after receiving your confirmation email, you wish to withdraw from a training or event, the following cancellation terms apply:
Cancellation one month, or more, prior to the training date – no charge/full refund
Cancellation two weeks prior to the training date – 50% charge/50% refund
Cancellation within two weeks prior to the training date – full charge/no refund
You may give your place to another delegate as long as we are notified of the name change along with contact details at least one week before the training date. You may not transfer your place onto another course except in exceptional circumstances.

Q: What happens if AVA cancels the training/event?
A: AVA reserves the right to cancel trainings/events. If we cancel a training course/event 14 or more days before the start date, regrettably we cannot refund any expenses incurred, e.g. travel tickets or accommodation costs. We will refund your course fee.
If we cancel less than 14 days before the start date, we will refund expenses incurred, e.g. travel tickets or accommodation costs. We will refund your course fee.
We thus recommend not making any travel or accommodation bookings more than 14 days before the start date of any training course/event.
