Can I attend one of your training courses/events?
Our training courses/events are accessible to all frontline professionals seeking to give an appropriate response to a woman or girl who discloses abuse, across the UK. Please read the outline for the course/event you are interested in to ensure that it meets your needs.
How many people attend a training course/event?
We allow a maximum of 16 participants to attend our classroom training courses and 16-18 for our online training. This is to ensure a high quality of training.
The number of delegates at our events is dependent on the nature of the event, please check the details for the particular event to be sure.
What time does a training course start?
Our classroom training courses run from 10 am – 4.30 pm, online training runs 10 am – 1 pm unless otherwise stated.
How much does one of your training courses cost?
We have a tiered pricing system for our classroom based and online blended training:

Tier B = medium sized charities with an annual income of between £200k and £1m
Tier C = large charities (annual income over £1m), statutory bodies, private sector bodies.

agreed upon by both parties. On average, bespoke development work incurs an additional
charge of £500 per day of development.
Prices for e-learning are based on the number of users accessing the course:
Bespoke development work will incur an additional charge of £500 per day of development.
We can also host an organisation’s e-learning package for 3 years via our e-learning platform for £3,000.
Do you provide lunch?
In order to keep our costs down we will not provide lunch at most of our training and events. Some special events may include lunch and if this is the case it will be stated on the specific event information. Refreshments (tea, coffee, water, biscuits) will always be provided.
What happens once I have submitted my booking?
We will send you a confirmation email and joining instructions within 10 working days of receiving your booking. Please contact us if you do not receive this. If you requested to be invoiced in your booking form, you will receive your invoice for your training course a fortnight before the event.
What happens if I need to cancel my place?
If at any point after being sent your confirmation email for an AVA training course or event, you wish to withdraw your place, the following cancellation terms apply:
Cancellation one month, or more, prior to the training date – no charge/full refund
Cancellation two weeks prior to the training date – 50% charge/50% refund
Cancellation within two weeks prior to the training date – full charge/no refund
Transferring your place:
- You may give your place to another delegate as long as we are notified of the name change along with contact details at least one week before the training/event date.
- You may transfer your place onto a different course/event as long as we receive more than two weeks notice.
- If you have attended part of a course/event, you may transfer your place to the next delivery of the same course and an administration fee will apply that covers any costs AVA incurred.
What happens if AVA cancels the training/event?
AVA reserves the right to cancel trainings/events. If we cancel a training course/event 14 or more days before the start date, regrettably we cannot refund any expenses incurred, e.g. travel tickets or accommodation costs. We will refund your course fee.
If we cancel less than 14 days before the start date, we will refund expenses incurred, e.g. travel tickets or accommodation costs. We will refund your course fee.
We thus recommend not making any travel or accommodation bookings more than 14 days before the start date of any training course/event.

Can I attend AVA training in order to replicate the training for my organisation or as a freelancer?

We are, however, happy to work in partnership in order to increase the reach of our training. So, if you would like to work with us to bring our training to new audiences please contact us.
