AVA signs letter of recommendations around women’s rough sleeping

As we build momentum on our Women’s Homelessness Programme, the sector demands radical improvements on women’s rough sleeping and experiences of homelessness.

The letter of recommendations was sent to Felicity Buchan MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Homelessness, Sarah Dines MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding
Home Office and Maria Caulfield MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Mental Health and Women’s Health Strategy.

Co-written by members of the Women’s Rough Sleeping sub-group of the London-wide Life off the
Streets programme, which includes representation from leading homelessness, housing, Violence
Against Women and Girls (VAWG), and health organisations and services, the letter has many signatories including AVA.

See the letter and what we are urging the Government to do, below.

AVA’s Women’s Homelessness Programme is a survivor lead programme, building safe housing pathways and tackling violence against women facing homelessness in London and is funded by Trust for London.

AVA will recruit, train and support women with lived experience to work alongside 4 London boroughs who are committed to improving their housing and homeless offer for women survivors of gender based violence.
